General Questions Q1: What styles of guitar do you teach? We offer lessons in a variety of styles, including rock, blues, jazz, pop, classical, country, and fingerstyle. Whether you’re a beginner looking to learn your first chords or an advanced player looking to refine your skills, we can tailor lessons to suit your musical interests. Q2: Do you teach electric and acoustic guitar? Yes, we teach both electric and acoustic guitar. Each type has its own unique techniques and approaches, and we can help you excel in either or both. Q3: Do I need my own guitar to start lessons? It is recommended that you have your own guitar so you can practice at home. However, if you’re unsure about which guitar to purchase, we can provide guidance on selecting the right one for you. For your first few lessons, we may have a guitar available for you to use. Lesson Details Q4: What is the duration and frequency of the lessons? Lessons are typically 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 1 hour long, depending on your preference and schedule. We recommend weekly lessons for consistent progress, but we can also accommodate bi-weekly or custom schedules. Q5: How much do lessons cost? £20 for 30 Minutes £28 for 45 Minutes £35 for 60 Minutes £70 for a 2-Hour Production Lesson (more time available on request) Q6: Do you offer online lessons? Yes, we offer online lessons via Zoom, Skype, or other video platforms. Online lessons are a convenient option for students who prefer learning from the comfort of their own home. Q7: Are lessons suitable for beginners? Absolutely! We welcome students of all skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced players. Our beginner lessons are designed to be fun and engaging, covering the basics of guitar playing, including chords, strumming, and simple songs. Q8: Can I learn specific songs during lessons? Yes, we encourage students to bring in their favorite songs to learn. Whether it’s a classic rock hit, a pop tune, or a jazz standard, we can help you break down the song and master it. Student Requirements Q9: What age groups do you teach? We teach students of all ages, from young children (typically 7 years and up) to adults. It’s never too late to start learning the guitar! Q10: Do I need any prior musical experience? No prior experience is needed to start guitar lessons. We will tailor the lessons to match your current skill level, whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience. Q11: How much should I practice between lessons? Practice is key to progress! We recommend practicing at least 5-60 minutes a day, depending on your schedule and goals. We will provide you with exercises and songs to practice at home. Policies & Scheduling Q12: What is your cancellation policy? We require at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Lessons canceled with less than 48 hours' notice will be charged at the full lesson rate. Q13: How do I pay for lessons? We accept bank transfers, preferably in bulk payments of 4 lessons at a time. Q14: Can I book lessons on a flexible schedule? Yes, we offer flexible scheduling options to accommodate busy lifestyles. Let us know your availability, and we will do our best to find a lesson time that works for you. Q15: Are your teachers DBS checked? Yes, all our teachers are DBS checked, ensuring a safe learning environment for students of all ages. Special Programs Q16: Do you offer group lessons? Yes, we offer group lessons for up to 2 people who prefer learning with friends or family members. Group lessons can be a fun and cost-effective way to learn guitar. Q17: Do you prepare students for exams or performances? Yes, we can help prepare students for music exams, school performances, talent shows, or any other performance opportunities. We specialize in exam boards such as Rockschool (RSL) and Trinity. Miscellaneous Q18: What if I’m left-handed? No problem! We can teach both right-handed and left-handed guitar players. We’ll adjust our lessons to fit your playing style.
